Perfect Planning, Perfect Timing
The planning process for most weddings begins six to twleve months prior to the big day.  But please know that with the right amount of details and an excellent checklist, we've seen it done and done well in just three months!  There is no longer a rule of thumb regarding planning rules and traditions.  Each wedding is unique and each wedding is spectacular!

6-12 Months Prior
Choose the type of wedding you want to have and begin thinking of a style and theme.
Determine your budget.
Choose ceremony and reception location(s).
Select accommodations for out of town guests and make reservations.
Select an officiant for the ceremony.
Confirm your wedding party.
Select a wedding planner (either full planning or day-of only)
Choose the dress, grooms attire, and wedding party attire.
Send engagement announcements.
Send save-the-date cards to out of town guests.
Select the music, florist, caterer/menu, photographer, videographer.
Deterine your initial guest list.
Determine rental equipment needs and make arrangements.
Plan honeymoon.
Request adequate time off from work.
Create a hard file for planning process (electronic and hard copy).

3-6 Months Prior
Select registry and registry items.
Meet with your officiant.
Meet with your planner or appropriate vendors and sign all contracts.
Determine the theme and design of the event.
Order the dress and other attire items.
Remind parents of bride and groom to select attire for wedding.
Order invitations, programs, etc.

2 Months Prior
Select wedding cake/dessert options.
Choose jeweler and wedding bands.
Plan reception seating arrangements.
Plan rehearsal and rehearsal dinner; send invitations.
Coordinate ushers, ring bearers, etc.
Confirm marriage license details.
Plan rehearsal dinner.
Purchase gift items for wedding party.
Address invitations in preparation for mailing 30 days prior to wedding date.

1 Month Prior
Select transportation arrangements.
Pick up wedding bands.
Confirm all arrangements and contracts with vendors.
Mail invitations 30 days prior.
Choose hair and makeup styles for wedding day (schedule appointments for wedding day).
Begin writing thank you notes as gifts arrive.
Purchase guest book and favors.

2 Weeks Prior
Pick up marriage license.
Confirm all details with vendors.
Make arrangements for all deliveries.

1 Week Prior
Pack for honeymoon.
Host bridesmaids luncheon.
Confirm all details with wedding vendors.

1 Day Prior
Pack items for day of including emergency items.
Coordinate rehearsal.
